I can kinda see the confluence of life events that would lead someone to this picture.

I’ve seen two different ones in my area in the past couple of months. Both piloted by silver hair.

The several that I have seen were 60-something bleach blonde ladies. I would imagine they all have personalized tags with something beachy on them. That’s our stereotype, to the extent that four versions of a single car can have a stereotype.
Remem
ber, these things were expensive enough that it had to be a very premeditated purchase. I also imagine that all of them were a trade-in for a Lexus SC430.

You forgot about the part where they complain that 55 cents is too much for a cup of coffee

How majestic!

I’m ok with this.
It gives the ugly car a purpose, and there aren’t many other convertibles that are as friendly to the mobility challenged.

Nah, they’d be trading up to an Evoque drop top.

What even is the stereotypical demographic for a CrossCab? The m obility scooter and the flat-brim cap are just making this harder for me to figure out.

Is this really friendly to the mobility challenged though? I feel like that trailer hitch is really pushing the tow capacity. Plus it looks like it’s about to snap off the back...

Older white-ladies that listen to a lot of Jimmy Buffet and refer to themselves as “Parrot heads” .
And I’m assuming that’s her “ helpful” son driving to the hardware store to buy something needed for a home repair that this woman is not capable of doing herself due to her mobility issues.

It’s taller than any non-crossover based convertible, and I’ve heard that people with back and leg problems prefer taller vehicles for ease of exit and entry. (Anecdotal evidence , but it makes sense)
The Mur ano CC has a tongue weight rating of 400 pounds according to etrailer. A volvo C70 convertible only has a 200 pound max tongue weight on etrailer. That should leave enough extra capacity when a wheelchair weighs 150 to 200 pounds.
But those hitch mounted carriers always look like they’re about to snap off. Seeing them bounce on the highway always makes me nervous.

I wonder if anyone’s ever done any testing to see what happens to a car’s crash structures with one of those installed. Or one of those front-mounted cooler/fishing pole caddies.
